Can’t Keep A Good Girl Down! Into everyone’s life a little rain must fall. But into some people’s lives monsoon rains fall, and celebrities are not exempt. Here are a few alpha female celebrities who rose above adversity to get where they are now…
Demi Lovato
If you think ordinary folks aren’t inspired by the hardship of celebrities, you obviously didn’t see Jillian Jensen on X Factor Season 2. Jillian took the stage and told judge Demi Lovato that she too had been bullied. Lovato has spoken publicly about the bullying she experienced in junior high, and how she battled depression and an eating disorder because of it. But as Lovato says to Jillian, “All the bullies are at home, watching us on X Factor.” Lovato battled her demons to rise to fame in short order, which should serve as a valuable reminder to all of us. That kid you make fun of in the school hallway may grow up to be your boss, the next Demi Lovato or Bill Gates.

2012 was a strange year for pop music. Many of the year’s best albums snuck up on us (Miguel, Frank Ocean, Fiona Apple), pushing aside “event” albums from megastars like Madonna and Christina Aguilera. (Taylor Swift held up her end of the deal, though.) Meanwhile, a handful of singles from virtual nobodies had the whole world singing in unison. But 2013 could mark the return of the Established Pop Juggernaut, thanks to new releases from Beyonce and Lady Gaga, a credibility grab by Justin Bieber and the return of Eminem, Paramore and Miley Cyrus. We don’t know how it will all shake out (besides the inevitable KimYe baby song), but below are the 13 pop albums we can’t wait to hear in 2013.
9. Demi Lovato, Album Title TBA
She was made of glass and paper in 2011, but 2013 might just find Lovato made of platinum: The Disney princess-turned-The X Factor judgestress, who had one of 2012′s best singles with “Give Your Heart a Break,” promises to up the ante with her fourth studio album, due next year. While details remain scarce, songwriter Emanuel Kiriakou (who penned “Who Says” for labelmate Selena Gomez) confirmed that he’d written “several songs” with the chanteuse, and Lovato promised in an interview that the sound will be more organic. “No dubstep for me, I’m good,” she said. “I miss hearing real instruments on the radio — I want to be able to bring that back to pop radio.” A new single expected sometime this spring should leave her winning streak unbroken.

Demi Lovato had a big year in 2012: the pop singer released “Give Your Heart A Break” — which became her biggest radio hit — and she starred on “The X Factor USA” as a judge alongside Simon Cowell and Britney Spears. Considering that just 2 years ago the young singer was in treatment, Demi’s very-public recovery has been nothing short of inspirational. On Monday night, Demi took to Twitter to reflect on how far she’s come.
Two years ago, I watched the ball drop on TV in rehab and cried my eyes out. Tonight I’m on the beach with my closest, most loyal friends sipping coffee and sharing how beautiful life is and how far we’ve come. Recovery is a beautiful thing friends.. Life is good, God is great!
She also encouraged her young fans to make smart and healthy decisions as they celebrated New Year’s Eve.
Everyone please be careful and smart tonight. NYE is about celebrating the past year and the year to come.. Set goals and dream big

Will Demi Lovato return to season 3 of X Factor–or is she leaving the show? With buzz surrounding Britney Spears getting fired from X Factor, many are wondering if the show will be cleaning house and letting Demi go as well. Fans initially started to worry that Demi was leaving X Factor when she tweeted after the show’s finale, writing that she was
“thankful for this experience I’ve had on The X Factor USA this year.” She added, “I’m really really really gonna miss working with @LA_Reid. So many laughs and inside jokes. Truly blessed to know you LA. Love you so much.” Demi also tweeted: “Also I’m going to miss sitting next to the STUNNING, gorgeous and down-to-earth sweetheart @britneyspears…Britney…I’m gonna miss you.”
She even had a tweet for Simon Cowell, writing, “You may seem like a grumpy old man who gets on my nerves (which you are and you do) BUT…I love you. You have an amazing heart and I’m very thankful I got the opportunity to get to know the genuine, humble and loving side of you.”
She added, ” I will miss making fun of you twice a week. I’ll still be doing it…Just not to your face…” Finally, Demi tweeted, “And my fans…You are family. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!! Thank you for watching and supporting me on The X Factor USA.”
Was that Demi’s way of saying that she would be leaving X Factor? Demi’s rep tells that her tweets weren’t an indication she was leaving, rather Demi was “just saying goodbye for the season.”

Demi Lovato took a page out of Britney Spears’ down-home playbook, and spent Christmas day in an unexpected, but awesome, place — the International House of Pancakes! Demi hit up an IHOP in Texas with her family for dinner on Tuesday, and the ‘X Factor’ judge’s ruling was — AWESOME! She tweeted …
“Literally the best Christmas I’ve ever had.”
The only person more excited than Demi about the meal — a rep for IHOP who tells TMZ,
“We are thrilled that Ms. Lovato came to IHOP for her Christmas Dinner and we look forward to her visiting us throughout the year.”
