Demi Lovato showed she’s an angel among us when she dedicated her moving song ‘Angels Among Us’ to the victims of the Newtown, C.T. school shootings. In a new video, Lovato’s song opens with a silent dedication to the six slain adults and twenty children from the Sandy Hook massacre. The message read, “We can never imagine what the families in Newtown, C.T. are experiencing right now. And while there is nothing we can do to replace their loss, we can stand together and support them during this difficult time. This song is in honor of those angels we lost on Dec. 14.”
The lyrics of ‘Angels Among Us’ are particularly appropriate in the wake of the tragedy. “When life held troubled times, and had me down on my knees / There’s always been someone there to come along and comfort me / A kind word from a stranger, to lend a helping hand / A phone call from a friend, just to say I understand / And ain’t it kind of funny that at the dark end of the road / Someone lights the way with just a single ray of hope / Oh I believe there are angels among us / Sent down to us from somewhere up above / They come to you and me in our darkest hours / To show us how to live, to teach us how to give / To guide us with the light of love.”
Lovato, wearing a leopard print dress, black motorcycle jacket, Lovato was accompanied by a pianist and an acoustic guitar. The set was decorated and lit with white candles, and Lovato was clearly touched. While her voice is typically the strongest of the post-Disney set, she was so overcome with emotion that at some points, it actually broke.
The performance is to raise awareness of wearenewtown.org, an organization designed to fundraise for the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy. The ‘X Factor‘ judge delivered a rendition that was both timely and touching.

Demi Lovato has a special relationship with her fans, and she showed it in a recent performance on her South American tour. Lovato answered questions during her sound check in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Friday (April 19) — starting with the “craziest thing” she’s ever done. When a Lovatic asked what the craziest thing Lovato’s ever done for an idol, Lovato scratched her head and broke into a smile.
The craziest thing I’ve ever done for an idol … I tried to sneak backstage at a concert for the Academy Is…,” she giggled. “In like, sixth, seventh grade when I was obsessed with them I tried sneaking backstage.” Now that Lovato’s a superstar, we doubt she’d need to do that anymore!
When a fan asked how Lovato felt about coming back to Brazil, she was more than enthusiastic.
You guys are one of the most extreme cities I’ve ever been to,” she said. “And I mean that in the best way possible. Seriously, y’all are insane and I love it!”

Demi Lovato has been on a video spree lately! Her latest addition? A moving performance of her hit ‘Skyscraper’ with minimal accompaniment. It’s just Lovato, her voice, a couple background singers and a piano.Lovato performs with minimal pomp and flash, opting to sit on a stool with just her mic, surrounded by candles. There’s no choreography, no flashing lights, dancers or effects. It’s just her and her voice. Lovato belts out the ballad with abandon, and the piano adds a touch of the somber yet hopeful feel captured in the song’s lyrics. The simple set up complements Lovato’s emotive voice and expressions beautifully.
This is only the most recent in a series of new clips from the ‘Stay Strong’ starlet. Last week she made a sweet video explaining her song ‘Give Your Heart a Break’ and thanking her fans. Days later, the cute teaser for ‘Give Your Heart a Break’ hit the Web.

Best friends Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato rang in the new year together on MTV’s ‘NYE in NYC’ special. The girls were stationed in Times Square in and around the MTV studios in New York City, where they both performed, with Lovato also taking the reigns as the show’s host (alongside ‘Teen Wolf’ actor Tyler Posey).
When she wasn’t showing off her top-notch hosting skills, Demi Lovato was hitting the stage to entertain her fans and viewers. The songstress, who was clad in a black, bedazzled corset and matching skirt, performed her song ‘Give Your Heart a Break’ off of her 2011 ‘Unbroken’ album. The redheaded songstress delivered the song beautifully, getting fans grooving along inside MTV’s studio in Times Square.
