Seventeen: Even though you’ve said you and Niall Horan are friends, he called you his “dream girl.” So, what’s really going on between you guys?
Demi Lovato: I think Niall is super, super sweet and we’ve become good friends. I get what it’s like to be in the spotlight since I’ve grown up in it. I want to introduce all the One Direction guys to the United States, but especially Niall because he hasn’t been here that much. I want to make sure he — or any of them really, I just don’t know the other guys as well — has someone to hang out with in the States. He’s really sweet and it’s always flattering when a guy says he has a crush on you. But, I’m in a place right now where I’m not dating. I’ve sworn off dating for a long time. You never know what the future holds of course, but for now I am an independent woman and proud of it!

Demi Lovato has been making headlines this year, and not just for her role on X Factor. Every time the 19-year-old hits the red carpet, fans can’t stop tweeting about her hair. Blonde, pink, blue, high, low, and even tied up with bondage tape—the girl’s got some serious beauty mojo. We caught up with the star to find out more about her beauty routine and how her newfound confidence has changed her style.
Do you ever wear your hair the same way twice?
“I love changing my hair a lot—I think it’s fun. I used to always want to dye my hair blue and purple and pink when I was younger. But I was busy trying to make it in the industry as an actress, and it was hard to go in for auditions with blue hair. And so when I heard of the dip dye trend, I loved it, and felt like I could finally dye my hair blue. You know you’ve made it when you can dye your hair blue.”

Demi is in talks to be the new face of Topshop, which is due to open a store in The Grove, Los Angeles. The 19-year-old star is in talks to be the new covergirl of the British retailer when the company opens a store in The Grove, Los Angeles, at the old site of Banana Republic. A source told Hollyscoop:
Demi is a huge fan of the brand, but nothing has become official quite yet. Demi Lovato is in negotiations to be the new face of Topshop, which is also known as Topman. It is a British couture clothing store that is coming to the US now. ‘They are opening up a shop in The Grove, where Banana Republic used to be. They really want Demi and she has already sat down to go over figures.’
Demi has an ideal platform to be seen in Topshop clothing as she is currently a judge on US ‘X Factor’ – alongside Britney Spears, Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid – a position she took up in May this year.

Almost four years to the day after Demi Lovato first debuted on Billboard’s charts, the Hollywood Records star is celebrating her biggest airplay hit ever. “Give Your Heart a Break” — the second charting single from her 2011 album, “Unbroken” — became her first top 10 on the Pop Songs airplay chart last week, rising 12-9 in its 19th frame. This week, the track holds its position. And over on the all-format Radio Songs list, it’s her first single to chart, jumping three spots from 15-12 since last week.
Lovato arrived on Billboard’s tallies in July 2008 with the single “This Is Me,” a duet with Joe Jonas from their Disney Channel made-for-TV movie “Camp Rock.” Though she released her debut album “Don’t Forget” in 2008 and followed it up with “Here We Go Again” in 2009, neither recording generated a breakout radio hit. (She has, however, notched 15 hits, including two top 10s, on the Billboard Hot 100, primarily due to sales on the radio/sales/streaming hybrid chart.) In addition to “Camp Rock” and its 2010 sequel, Lovato starred in the Disney comedy series “Sonny With a Chance” from February 2009 through January 2011.

Get ready for Demi Lovato to be all over your TV this fall — including on Glee! And just the thought of Glee covering a Demi song is making our day a lot “sunnier.” Glee creator Ryan Murphy was asked on Twitter whether the show would be covering a song by the former star of Disney’s Sonny With a Chance and brand new X Factor mentor, and Ryan confirmed that it definitely would. So we suppose the only question remaining is which song they’ll choose! Decisions, decisions.
We don’t care too much about which song they choose, so long as there’s a Demi song on the show — and it sounds like there’s a very good “chance” of that happening! Which song would YOU choose to be featured??

Demi will be getting some help when she hosts the 2012 Teen Choice Awards. She will be joined by “Glee” star Kevin McHale, who will co-host the night’s festivities with the “X Factor” judge, Fox announced on Thursday.
Demi and I have been friends for years, and I’d like to thank her for letting me in on the fun co-hosting Teen Choice 2012,” McHale said in a statement about the gig. “It’s exciting to finally be working together professionally and I’d like to welcome her to the Fox family. This is going to be a great show.”
