Demi has announced that she will play a one-off London show later this year. The ‘Neon Lights’ singer is to play at Koko in Camden on Sunday, June 1. Tickets for the gig will go on sale on Friday (April 11) at 10am. Lovato recently finished the North American leg of her ‘Neon Lights Tour’ in support of her fourth album Demi. Lovato will begin the South American leg in Sao Paulo, Brazil on April 22.

The Neon Lights Tour just got cray—Demi Lovato buzzed off some of her hair, y’all. Demi has always played around with her hair, from bright blue to bright pink tresses and, like, everything in between, so we’re used to seeing Demi with a new ‘do on a pretty frequent basis. What we weren’t expecting, though, was for her next hair move to be sheering it off. And it’s not just a tiny part above her ear—it’s a CHUNK, and it’s cut very close. While the first image she posted was, like, alarming, the second revealed that she Skrillexed herself, taking off a few inches above her left ear. The rest of her hair is still pink with noticeable (yet perfect) roots, but there are definitely plenty of strands to be mourned. Goodbye, beautiful pink hair, we barely knew ye.

If we were psychics, we would’ve realized that Demi was foreshadowing the drastic move last week when she posted a picture of herself with a braided undercut. Alas, we thought she was just admiring the style and not actually, y’know, experimenting with how the cool breeze would feel against her scalp.

Demi is the first celeb in a while to take the plunge—the last one we can remember is Avril Lavigne, and that was almost two years ago. Will Demi’s new ‘do inspire a 2014 resurgence of the trend? We’ll be practicing our braiding in the meantime—we’re not ready to say bai to any of our hair for real (yet).

A few nights before, Selena Gomez was on hand to accept an award at the unite4:humanity Gala and gave a big shout out to BFF Demi Lovato:

“I’m truly honored to be in a room with such incredible people that inspire me. I want to thank my family. They are the ones who taught me the importance of giving back before we had anything to give back… I have to say, I want to thank Demi,” Selena shared during her acceptance speech. Selena continued, “Just the fact that we’re here at 21 years old, and we’ve always talked about using our voice to help this generation… I feel like sometimes we’re the only ones holding the fort, and I’m so thankful for you to inspire me everyday. I hope that we can, together, completely inspire this generation to focus on what’s really important. So thank you so much.”

Demi Lovato hit back at fans who slammed her for not attending the 2014 People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday night. The “Heart Attack” singer tweeted,

“Damn… Just hopped online to check twitter and some ‘fans’ are being really mean :(” Lovato explained, “I’m not at the PCA’s because as I have stated before, I’m taking as much time off this month as possible.”“I haven’t taken a substantial amount of time off in a long time and now I am. Thank you for those who voted and understand why I am away,” she added.

The former “X Factor” judge went on to distinguish between the “fans” who “say they support me, then they hate on me, my personal life and my loved ones,” and her Lovatics, who “are the BEST fans an artist could ever ask for.” After she won Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Music Fan Following, the pop star thanked her “Lovatics” for being true fans who have her back no matter what.

You know things are going to be okay when Demi Lovato’s in your corner. The 21-year-old “Skyscraper” singer and former Disney star has battled her fair share of inner demons and never hesitates to lend a helping hand to those facing a similar fight. Case in point: Demi has reached out to fellow pop star Ke$ha as the 26-year-old begins a 30-day program for an eating disorder. Dems contacted Ke$ha upon hearing the “Timber” singer was headed to rehab. Specifically, Dems is said to be interested in having Ke$ha join her as a celebrity spokesperson about eating disorders.

The two leading ladies have had very similar paths when it comes to the ups and downs of fame. Four years ago, Dems attended the same center, Timberline Knolls, outside of Chicago. She was facing bulimia, anorexia, self-harm, and a drug addiction — so, yeah, we’d say Demi Lovato is a good resource to have on hand at a time like this.

Dems hasn’t said anything about the situation via her Twitter but we wouldn’t put it past her to reach out in a more personal form. After all, we’ve heard fellow music star and real-life bestie Selena Gomez has done the same for Dems in the past.

Anyone who’s seen Demi Lovato perform live knows that the girl can sing, but the exiting “X Factor” judge is prepping to bring a little more sparkle to her forthcoming Neon Lights Tour.

“You can expect a show that I’ve never put on before,” the blue-haired singer told MTV News following Thursday’s “X Factor” finale, which saw real-life couple Alex & Sierra take home the grand prize. “I’m really excited.”

While Lovato says that her previous shows have been “all about the music,” the 21-year-old hopes to give fans an “incredible experience” with her latest.

“I want it to be about girl empowerment,” she said. “I want it to be a huge party.” Um, who wouldn’t want to party with “X Factor” alums (and tour openers) Cher Lloyd, Little Mix and Fifth Harmony? Count us in!

After listening to Demi non-stop since May, Lovatics are itching to know the latest on the star’s next musical offering. Rest assured that the “Heart Attack” singer has already started scheduling recording sessions for “in between breaks” of the tour and she plans to be “writing every chance I get.” Demi features a memorable collaboration with Lloyd (“Really Don’t Care”), but can we expect to see Fifth Harmony making sweet music with Lovato anytime soon?

“Of course! There’s plans to collaborate with them,” Lovato gushed. “I adore them so much. They’re such sweet girls and I really think they’re going to go far in this industry. I’m glad I could that I could be a part of it by helping put them together and taking them on the road. It’s really exciting.”

Alas, all this touring leaves little time for Lovato’s TV gig. The singer confirmed last week that she won’t be returning to “X Factor” for season four.

New York, NY (December 26, 2013) – This holiday season, Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas give back by starring in a global philanthropic PSA campaign by IPG Mediabrands in support of We Day. We Day is an educational youth empowerment event which is taking the philanthropic world by storm. Organized by Free the Children, We Day is now going global, with events in the United States, Canada and the UK. Because of We Day, over 160,000 youth this year alone will come together in stadium gatherings to take part in an unprecedented educational initiative which inspires students to get involved in positive social change. As depicted in the global PSA campaign, We Day is now on par with some the biggest events in sport, music and film. World-renowned leaders and A-list entertainers have added their voice to this movement. The PSA campaign features today’s hottest celebrities – Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas – encouraging people to follow We Day on Twitter and Facebook. For every new follower, sponsors will generously donate school supplies to a child in a developing country, enabling more children to attend school and equipping them with the tools to learn.

“Being a part of We Day and the community of young people involved is an incredible experience,” said Demi Lovato, multi-platinum recording artist and best-selling author. “To see so many young people, all coming together to stand up for issues that they care about, like bullying, homelessness, and education, really makes you believe that this generation will be the ones to make the world a better place.”

From a field of former Disney teen stars — think Selena, Miley, plus their older pop sisters Britney and Christina — Demi Lovato, 21, is one of the most relatable. In 2010, she entered a treatment facility to deal with issues of depression, bulimia, addiction, and cutting, and she’s been equally forthright about her subsequent journey to health. Now, the youngest X Factor judge has a new self-titled album that documents that journey. We caught up with her in between tour dates — and after surgery to have her tonsils removed — to ask how she’s feeling, emotionally and physically, in the months after her father’s sudden passing.

How did your throat surgery go? And how soon until we hear your voice again?
It was tough, but I’m feeling so much better now. I felt like I had a terrible sore throat for at least 2 weeks. I was really nervous before the surgery: I asked the doctor if he’d ever had anyone die from anesthesia before. (In case you’re wondering, he said, “No.”) I’m going to be singing again very soon!

Did this surgery offer a permanent remedy?
I had enlarged and impacted tonsils, so I’ve been dealing with chronic tonsillitis for as long as I can remember. I’d get sick every couple of weeks. Awful! I was supposed to get my tonsils out when I was 15, but my schedule was [too] crazy. Now that my tonsils are removed, I should be good.

Demi Lovato quits ‘X Factor’Our favorite blue-haired TV judge, Demi Lovato, has decided the time is right to quit X Factor. She wants to be a music artist again. And Simon Cowell’s A-OK with that.

“I always knew she wasn’t coming back because she’s touring, so I knew that,” series creator Cowell said Wednesday night, reports Billboard.

Lovato shared her plans for the coming year, saying,

“I started the show being a singer and a musician, and so I’m going to go back to that. It’s been really great, but I’m so excited for 2014. I’m going to dedicate it completely and entirely to music — touring and making a new album. Possibly releasing one.”

Lovato is set to begin her Neon Lights tour, to support her latest album Demi, on Feb. 9 in Vancouver. Cowell said earlier this week that changes are in store for the show, possibly including his role on it. A new X Factor champ for this season will be crowned Thursday night.
