Demi Lovato has been given a rather unusual 21st birthday present – a wild goat presented to her by a Masaai tribe whilst on her visit to Kenya this week.
Demi was in Africa with the charity Free the Children, an organisation dedicated to eliminating the exploitation of children around the world. The singer flew back to the U.S today where she will be joining the judging panel in the U.S version of the X Factor once again, but not before receiving an unusual gift.
The Heart Attack singer wrote on Twitter: “Btw… No big deal or anything but… One of Maasai communities gave me a GOAT for my birthday!!!!!! …I named him billy.”
The singer clearly had a good time on her birthday trip to Kenya and did not want to leave the country famous for it’s diverse wildlife and safari tours: “Am I seriously in AFRICA right now?!!!?!??!?”
She tweeted: “This place is absolutely incredible. I’m so in love with Kenya. I’m so sad I’m leaving…This trip has been such an amazing experience. Yesterday was the best birthday of my entire life!!”
The grateful singer also thanked her fans for sending their birthday wishes. There have been no pictures of the goat as yet and it is unclear whether the animal will be coming back to the U.S with her or whether she will be leaving it with the Masaai community.
All we know is that the gift might just finally answer the question “what do you get the girl who has everything?”
